Abstract:

This study aims to describe and analyse an interprofessional educational intervention for the prenatal care qualification in the context of Primary Health Care. Method: Action research comprising a prenatal care qualification course with 65 primary health care professionals. Collaboratively learning activities were scheduled in synchronous and asynchronous format. Results: The reflexive thematic analysis of participants’ experiences, views and perceptions on the siginificance of the intervention revealed three categories: Prenatal care qualification: concepts and meanings. The picture of the local reality: strengths and weaknesses; collaborative learning as a strategy to transcend linear and specific care; the need to evolveacting locally to thinking globally. Conclusion: The analysis of the interprofessional educational intervention for the qualification of prenatal care in the context of Primary Health Care showed that constructivist, participatory and interprofessional way are relevant and pertinent to broaden theoretical perceptions and give new meaning to the work process at different points in the health network.
