Abstract:

This study examines intersectoral action developed between the health and education sectors Health Program in the School implementation process in a city in the metropolitan area by northeastern Brazil. It was defined as analytic dimensions the political management process and the skill of the practitioners involved with the program, as well as the understanding of the subjects on the intersectionality. The results showed that intersectionality is understood by common sense notions involving partnership and collaborative work. In the program implementation process,
with regard to decision-making and resource mobilization, the health sector play the role of a leader while the education sector assumed a more peripheral role. Health activities in schools have a strong biomedic bias and were sustained through lectures. It is argued that the program strengthened the relationship between the two sectors, however aspects of inter-agency coordination in the political-managerial process and the practice has shown weaknesses and limitations.
