Abstract:

The construction of intersectoriality in Worker Health (WH), although fundamental, has been shown as a challenge for this field of knowledge and practice. Objective: Present and discuss how the concept of intersectorality is addressed in WH public policies, in what contexts it is used, how it is defined and what are the guidelines for its implementation. Method: Qualitative documentary research. Documents promulgated between 1986 and 2015 were analyzed, accessed through the databases of the Ministries of Health, Labor and Social Security, as well as the websites of FUNDACENTRO and the National Association of Occupational Medicine (ANAMT). Results: There is clear leadership of the health sector in the documents that propose the construction of intersectoriality. Terms such as integrated actions, articulation, dialogue and integration, and finally, intersectoriality, were used one moment as synonyms, the next as conceptual advances, generic, polysemic and supposedly consensual expressions. Conclusion: In spite of the evolution of the intersectoriality concept in the policies of the area and the growing participation of the different sectors in this construction,
it is observed that there are few clear propositions about the effectiveness of this practice among managers and among the workers that compose the field.
