This paper discusses the legitimating and non legitimating about long duration illness and experiences which are not considered disease by the medical diagnoses, as chronic fatigue, chronic and “high pression”. It uses ed international and national researches in sociology and anthropology of health as examples and also the personal and professional relates. It explores their implications, reflexes and ambiguities for the identity, moral and physical suffering perceived by the subjects and also in its relationship with the others and with the health professionals.This is an essayistic text about ed research on the theme. It conclude that the illness persons are moved by actions and significations about its experiences with the physical and moral suffering that are or not legitimate for them, but they refletects in their life and biography, and expresses in their language and in its emotions, social relations and also in their identity to be or not illness. The legitimization and non legitimization process on those experiences have implications for the health care which were explored in the comments, and request qualitative ethnographic researches about them.
