Abstract:

Objective: To identify the repercussions of the effect of memory stimulation in healthy elderly. Method: Integrative review of literature, articles published in the last seven years in English, Portuguese and Spanish. The ion was performed through descriptors crossings: elderly health, memory and cognition in the bases of Lilacs, Medline, IBECS. The inclusion criteria were: original article; guide question answering; electronic availability in the form of a full text, population of 60 years old without diagnosis of cognitive impairment. Results: 12 articles were ed. From the survey, it was identified that the effect of memory stimulation in the elderly without cognitive impairment can improve performance in advanced, instrumental and basic activities of daily living, in psychological components, social and quality of life in the elderly. Conclusion: According to the analysis of the articles it is important to emphasize the need for further longitudinal and interventional studies focused on cognitive stimulation in the elderly without cognitive impairment and that these future researches can overcome such limitations through research in the area that aim to efficient monitoring and evaluations, more rigorous and committed to facilitate the cognitive performance of the elderly in daily activities.
