Abstract:

This study aimed to review the literature on the methods used to assess the completeness of the data of information systems in healthcare. We searched the MEDLINE, SciELO and LILACS using the keywords "quality", "data quality", "quality of information" and "information systems." It included articles, dissertations and theses that assessed the fulfillment of variables. In the 19 studies reviewed epidemiological systems of rationality were the most valued (90.5%). Studies on completeness are scarce (an average / year). Methods vary since its evaluation isolated analysis of more than one quality dimension. The term completeness is more used to characterize the filling of variables. The score Romero and Cunha is the most frequent. Sources and means of access to the data were the most common databases of SIS and Datasus site. Predominated studies with data from the Southeast and Brazil. The indicators that measure the completeness of a simple frequency range on indices and indicators synthesis. The heterogeneity of methods lacks standardization and dissemination of information allowing comparisons between studies.
