Abstract:

The objective of this study was to analyze the correlation between the number of health care teams in the Family Health Strategy (FHS) and the number of hospitalizations due to Primary Care Sensitive Conditions (HPCSC), also considering rates, costs and hospital stay, in a large municipality in Minas Gerais, Brazil, between 2010 and 2019. This is an ecological time series correlation study on HPCSC for patients hospitalized in the public health system. The data arethe Hospital Information SystemInformatics Department of the Unified Health System (DATASUS) and the Primary Care Information and Management System. The correlation analysis was performed based on the number, gross and standardized rates, percentages, costs and daily rates for HPCSC and health care coverage (average number of teams) using Spearman\'s correlation coefficient, assuming a significance level of 5% (p
