Abstract:

This article aims to analyze the perception of healthy feeding practices of adolescents in a school in the interior of Pernambuco. It is a study of descriptive and exploratory, conducted by qualitative method. We investigated 40 adolescents aged 10 to 14, through a semi-structured interview. The interviews were analyzed using the Alceste software that showed two thematic axes: feeding practices divided into two classes (Recall of routine feeding and feeding during the weekend); and educational practices consist of four classes (interfering factors and facilitators in maintaining healthy eating habits, school‘s role in education process for healthy eating; Knowledge about healthy eating; Family and the promotion of healthy eating). adolescents interviewed despite having knowledge about healthy eating does not always put into practice because of the multiplicity of factors that interfere with their food choices. The school and the family had a fundamental role in encouraging healthy eating habits. Identifies the need for school conduct nutrition education practices that encourage the consumption of food produced in the locality.
