Abstract:

The article presents the importance of the qualification of professionals involved with children feeding in daycare centers, so that proper goods are offered and programs are developed in order to stimulate nurseling children healthy food habits since birth. Therefore, the aim of the present article was evaluating the impact of a training program for these professionals, their practical perceptions towards children feeding. For that matter, a qualitative approach was used, with the technical application of the focus group. Sixteen groups were performed, among which 8 were with children from daycare centers and eight with non-exposed, being 6 to 11 the average number of participants per institutions, which were from 19 to 66 years old. The speech of the teachers who took part in the training program is filled with signals of small changes, or at least, with the recognition that it is indeed necessary and possible to promote changes. It is emphasized with evidence in this article, the relevance of elaborating and executing training programs for nutritional education of daycare centers’ teachers, under continuous supervision of the effects of the qualification as a strategy of the development of children’s health.
