Abstract:

the paper analyzes some actual questions related to the choose of evidences in order to guide the public policy and the mental health’s practices. It starts from a critical reflection about the types of evidences proposed by the evidence based medicine and also about the concept of qualitative evidences. The issue is particularly analyzed in relationship with the mental health users and their claims for having services organized in a way that incorporate their own perceptions and values, and to the Psychiatric Reform’s field strongly based on ethic and political positioning.
