Abstract:

This article analyses a public policy in education, Post Graduation in Collective Health, to identify possible dialogues of this policy, since 1990, with a public health policy, SUS. It takes as the main product of the PGCH policy the access of professionals to Masters and PhD degrees, essential preparing teaching and research resources in the area. A bibliographic review and analysis of CAPES documents and databases was carried out. It concluded that this education policy has been consistent along the years and core to social development, as is health policy, without presenting formal points of intercession, and its impact will mainly occur through the training of good and committed professionals, teachers and researchers. In the PGCH, the Professional Masters programs, the most direct linkage of postgraduate studies with SUS, and the research proposals of the Ministry of Health for financing priority themes for the Health System are relevant initiatives. The authors consider that, even with explicit activities of knowledge production by the PGCH for utilization in the SUS, the mechanisms involved in the translation, translation or impact of scientific knowledge to concrete practice are complex and should be analyzed for specific themes and contexts.
