Abstract:

The Chronic Spinal Problem (PCC) is an important public, economic and social health problem. In Brazil, datathe National Health Survey (PNS -2013) estimated 27.0 million people 18 years of age or older (18.5%) who reported CCP, affecting more women than men. This study aims to identify, among women of childbearing age, the factors associated with PCC. It is a cross-sectional study conducted with datathe PNS, in which the dependent variable analyzed was the prevalence of a chronic spinal problem, and associated factors included socio-demographic items, life habits, reproductive history, nutritional status, diagnosis of depression and perception of health. A total of 22,621 women aged 18-49 years were evaluated, 14.8% of whom reported having PCC. The risk factors studied were: increase in age; living with spouse / partner; multiparity; be a smoker; being overweight or obese, having Waist Circumference (CC) above 80cm and Circumference / Height (C/E) index above 0.5; self-perception of health as bad, very bad or regular; and diagnosis of depression. The only protective factor found was schooling. The observed associations show that age, living with spouse / partner, smoking, multiparity, overweight and obesity, increased risk for cardiovascular diseases, diagnosis of depression and self-perception of negative health are associated with the development of PCC in women o
