Abstract:

The research aims to describe the sociodemographic and health profile of nursing professionals in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic and propose a reflective analysis on the essentiality of the category facing the intrinsic demands of patients and the Brazilian health system, especially in the context of the public health emergency triggered by the exponential advance of the Sars-CoV-2 virus. The study reveals the relationship between historical injustices and the different types of inequality that died and caused the vulnerability of the profession, with emphasis on the presentation of potential perspectives arisingthis historical process and recent events.
