The profile of the authors of deaths of intentional aggressions in the city of Rio de Janeiro in 2015 is presented, according to investigation datathe State Civil Police (PCERJ) on violent lethality. It is a quantitative, descriptive and cross-sectional study. The information includes intentional homicides, theft followed by death, bodily injuries followed by death and homicides arisingopposition to police intervention. The profile of the authors of each category was analyzed, except the last one that, due to its specificity, will be analyzed separately. From the total of 1,562 deaths, those committed by Police intervention were subtracted. Of the 1255 crimes here studied, only 20% had their authors identified. The following variables are used: sex, age, education, occupation, previous relationship between author and victim and type of circumstance of death due to aggression. The weight of illegal activities by drug traffickers and militiamen (62%) is demonstrated. Another part (39%) is the result of interpersonal violence in domestic and living spaces. There is a great similarity between the profile of the perpetrators and the victims of violent lethality in a similar urban context: men (94%), young people (19-39 years old) (81%), blacks (66%), with low education and high levels of not formal occupation.

Apresenta-se o perfil dos autores de mortes por agressões intencionais no município do Rio de Janeiro, em 2015, segundo dados de investigação da Polícia Civil do Estado (PCERJ) sobre letalidade violenta. É um estudo quantitativo descritivo e transversal. As informações englobam homicídios dolosos, roubo seguido de morte, lesões corporais seguidas de morte e homicídios provenientes de oposição à intervenção policial. Analisou-se o perfil dos autores de cada categoria, exceto o da última que, em razão de sua especificidade, será analisado separadamente. Do total de 1.562 mortes, subtraíram-se as cometidas por intervenção policial. Dos 1255 crimes estudados, apenas 20% tiveram os autores identificados. Utilizam-se as seguintes variáveis: sexo, idade, escolaridade, ocupação, existência de relação prévia entre autor e vítima e tipo de circunstância da morte por agressão. Demonstra-se o peso das atividades ilegais de traficantes de drogas e milicianos (62%). Outra parte (39%) é fruto da violência interpessoal nos espaços domésticos e de convivência. Existe grande semelhança entre o perfil dos autores e das vítimas de letalidade violenta em contexto urbano similar: homens (94%), jovens antes de 19 até 39 anos (81%), negros (66%), com baixa escolaridade e elevados níveis de não ocupação formal.
