This study aimed to develop recommendations for strengthening the National Food and Nutrition Policy (PNAN), identifying possible innovations, actions and strategies that can be implemented and/or promoted at the national level to strengthen the implementation of the policy. Qualitative methodology and thematic analysis were used to explore the collective opinion of a group of Brazilian experts in food and nutrition in the health sector regarding actions that could be carried out at the national level to strengthen the implementation of PNAN in the country. 51 recommendations were presented, grouped into 14 themes: financing, professional nutritionist, training, management, social control, technologies, structure, information systems, evaluation and monitoring, communication, conflict of interest, regulatory agenda, international agenda and intersectoral agenda. The guarantee of funding, the presence of a professional nutritionist and training were themes that appeared across the board as guidance to strengthen the implementation of all PNAN guidelines. The recommendations presented in this study can contribute to the implementation of the PNAN at the local level and to the improvement of the health and nutrition conditions of the Brazilian population.

Recomendações para o fortalecimento da implementação da Política Nacional de Alimentação e Nutrição
Abstract(resumo):
O presente estudo teve como objetivo elaborar recomendações para o fortalecimento da Política Nacional de Alimentação e Nutrição (PNAN), identificando possíveis inovações, ações e estratégias que possam ser feitas e/ou fomentadas em nível nacional para fortalecer sua implementação. Foi utilizada a metodologia qualitativa e a análise temática para explorar a opinião coletiva de um grupo de especialistas brasileiros, em alimentação e nutrição no setor saúde, sobre ações que poderiam ser realizadas em nível nacional para fortalecer a implementação da PNAN no país. Foram apresentadas 51 recomendações, agrupadas em 14 temas: financiamento, profissional nutricionista, formação, gestão, controle social, tecnologias, estrutura, sistemas de informação, avaliação e monitoramento, comunicação, conflito de interesse, agenda regulatória, agenda internacional e agenda intersetorial. Sendo que, a garantia de financiamento, a presença do profissional nutricionista e a formação foram temas que apareceram de forma transversal como orientação para fortalecimento da implementação de todas as diretrizes. As recomendações apresentadas neste estudo podem contribuir com a implementação da PNAN em nível local e para a melhoria das condições de saúde e nutrição da população brasileira.
