Abstract:

The paper is a review of scientific literature on the topic of Health Regionalization in indexed Brazilian journals in SciELO. The aim is to support policy makers in decision making and also the analysis of academic literature on the subject. Method: Search on the online database of articles in SciELO, using 6/2/2016 as temporal court, ‘regionalization‘ and ‘health‘ as search terms and ‘all indices’ as ‘scope of the research’. The search revealed 102 references whose abstracts were analyzed. 70 articles effectively discuss the regionalization of health in Brazil. It was found 4 articles in journals outside the field of health. Analysis: institutional criteria (periodic, thematic area, date of publication, scope, number of authors) and analytical categories created by the author - Type 1, involving \"Exploratory Study\" (26) \"evaluative studies\" (6), \"Comparative Studies \"(3) and\" Experience Reports \"(5); Type 2, including \"Theoretical-Analytical Texts\" (20) and \"Historical and Conceptual Reviews\" (4); Type 3, with \"Editorials\" (3) and \"Book Reviews\" (3). Results: Regionalization prevails in journals since 2010. Articles in Type 1 category are dominant.
