Abstract:

The More Medical Program (PMM) launched in 2013 has triggered major changes in the health sector. However, several changes in its functioning have been noted in recent years due to a range of social and political events. This article seeks to identify and analyze the repercussions of the brazilian media about the PMM after the impeachment occurred in 2016. It is an exploratory study, which had its corpus of analysis constitutedthe identification, ion and analysis of news published in three newspapers of great national circulation (Jornal OGlobo, Folha de São Paulo and Estadão), in the period of August2016 to June 2018. The data collected were processed through the Iramuteq software. The results demonstrate that the Cuban doctors and issues related to medical education and governance of the PMM were at the heart of the public news after impeachment, and social actors began to defend new positions. Thus, although the implementation of the PMM is already well advanced and has popular support, important changes are being made and require thorough evaluation, in order to guarantee the rights already achieved.
