Abstract:

The objective of this work was to assess the level of knowledge and systematization of scientific production linked to the National Health Promotion Policy (PNPS), after ten years of its implementation. It was conducted a scientometric study of national and international scientific literature on the bases in the PubMed and SciELO. The survey was conducted in December 2015, using the term \"national health promotion policy\", resulting in identification of 88 publications related to PNPS. The years 2012 and 2013 held the largest number of articles published and the National Policy of Food and Nutrition and the Oral Health were the most studied themes. The states of São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Distrito Federal stood out by the quality and quantity of scientific production, which were mostly published in international journals classified in the strata Qualis A2. The public policies of Attention to emergencies, Maternal and Child Health and Adolescent figured as the less investigated themes. Although scientific production has contributed to the application of scientific and technical knowledge in health promotion, sectors underexplored may hinder the design and redesign of strategic actions for addressing health inequities in the coming decades.
