Abstract:

This study proposes the analysis of scientific articles, to investigating how researchers on Social Constructionism define “health” in Basic Care. An Integrative literature review was performed, selecting to analysis those studies which work with narrative experiences and also research studies. The database was the Brazilian Virtual Health Library, with practices within Basic Care. The effectiveness of this step resulted in 12 articles. Data were analyzed and discussed based on the perspectives of social constructionism, which generated two central themes: citizenship exercises - promoting health in collective spaces; health practices - overcoming the dichotomies and absolute truths. This study revealed the relevance about shared responsibility notion on produced meanings of health. Researchers claim that it is possible to expand health practices into a collective action and how that comprehension would facilitate ongoing dialogue between users and workers on health. However the dominance of biomedical discourse it is criticized by the researchers because that paradigm still promotes practices based on disease logics.
