Abstract:

The objective was to analyze the correlation of the quality of Primary Health Care services in reducing child mortality, through the geoprocessing method. This is an ecological study, with a cross-sectional approach, in which secondary dataall 5565 Brazilian municipalities were used to analyze the infant mortality rate (IMT) and cause of infant death. The data related to the IMT was obtainedthe Mortality Information System. For the spatial analysis, we included 5011 municipalities. The clustering analyzes were performed using the GEODA software and the spatial regression analyzes were performed using ARCGIS 10.5. In Brazil, there was a 45.07% reduction in TMI between the years 2000 and 2015. The greatest reduction occurred in the northeastern region of the country, although it is still the region with the highest number in TMI. Of the 749 municipalities analyzed in the differential cluster for infant death, 153 had high IMT. The areas with the highest expansion of high TMI were found in the North and Northeast regions. In Brazil, IMT proved to be inversely associated with the variables accessibility to highly complex services, strata of health management and population size, reference for childbirth, live birth rate, per capita income and unemployment rate. In this study, there was an increasing reduction in IMT between 2000 and 2015.
