Abstract:

The present article aims to systematically review the literature on studies that used the method of scores proposed by Fornés and collaborators (2002). To evaluate food consumption and discuss the methodthe perspective of food standard assessment. We searched for articles in the Medline, Lilacs and Scielo database. The search for the English, Portuguese and Spanish languages and articles published2002 to 2016 was limited. The inclusion criteria were: studies that used the method of scores proposed by Fornés et al. To evaluate food consumption. 8300 items were found in the original search. After reading titles, abstracts and application of exclusion criteria, 14 articles were ed. The articles evaluated the dietary pattern adopting different groups and verified associations with anthropometric, socioeconomic and biochemical variables It was concluded that the scores method is a tool capable of evaluating dietary patterns and that allows to verify associations between anthropometric, biochemical, socioeconomic and clinical variables with the components of the investigated diet / food group to which the individual was exposed.
