Abstract:

A theoretical reflection on public health from a social justice approach that does not forget the subject is presented. Beginning with a conceptualization of social justice, human rights and healthin the framework of an epistemological analysis, a particular perspective on social justice and its implications for public health practice is exposed using a program of public health as an example. Some paths are identified in order to guide and carry out the actions developed in public health programs. This implies a different way to understanding the settingsand exchanges among people in the clinical field. These fields can also be understood as a suitable opportunity for the construction of subjects and subjectivities involved in political struggles for human rights, health equity and recognition of a life worth of human dignity.
