The health care complexity of people living with HIV/Aids requires investment in the integrality of actions and care, challenging the multidisciplinary work teams to building an interdisciplinary paractice. This study aimed to analyze the integrality of health care in the Specialized Assistance Services for HIV/Aids (SAE-HIV/Aids) in Recife, Pernambuco, considering the process and team work organization. This is a case study developed in three SAE-HIV/Aids units, based on a qualitative approach using different research techniques. The results show that SAE-HIV/Aids have attended to most of Brazilian Health Ministry recommendations in terms of infrastructure but the minimum team work number wasn’t observed in none of them. These services have shown fragmentation and difficulty to establish a systematic intersectorial and interdisciplinary practice, and failed in guarantee the reference and counter-reference flow. It was identified the need to perceive the user as a whole; to have a team’s collaborative way of working, in order to enforce communicative and relational activities. It was also perceived a little appreciation of the role of the manager as a coach of the team. Keywords: Aids; Integral Health Care; Ambulatory Care; Patient Care Team.
