Abstract:

The Starfield pillars and the Canadian health system are reviewed. Using objective data and opinion, the system is evaluated through the lenses of access, continuity of care, comprehensive care and care coordination. Weaknesses are appointed as well as propositions to address them, both nationally and in the province of Ontario. The opportunity for a national pharmacare system is pointed out as well as the challenges for a system upgrade.
