Abstract:

This article proposes to conduct a discusion about civil society organization in combat against aids in Brazil. The objective is to analyze transformations of civil society in combat against aids in Brazil, according to the expression of needs and achievement of public policies. Literature was recovered in health´s area and social science, since the start of the aids epidemic in Brazil until the present moment. The results showed that society press at the beginning of the epidemic produced responses of the government to access and integral care of people living with HIV / aids. Currently, there is a variety of groups mobilized and the emphasis on the civil society work in improving public policies and the consolidation of existing conquered spaces. Among the changes of demands, before the current reality of aids and the country general policy, pointing up the importance of this thematic study in order to strengthen collective action to demand answers of the State compatible to face the new needs of the movement to fight aids.
