Abstract:

The implementation, in the region of Alto Rio Negro / Amazon, of the National Policy for Health Care of Indians Peoples (Pnaspi) was analyzed based on the guidance of differentiated care. This subject was investigated under three perspectives: a) the formulation of the policy; b) the health itineraries in the two indigenous villages, and c) the Indigenous Community Health Agents (AIS) work routines. It´s a qualitative research supported by the anthropological perspective of Eduardo Menéndez. The techniques used were: a) participant observation, b) interviews, and, d) documental analysis. We conclude that the formulation of the guidance of differentiated care emphasis the adequation of technologies and professionals, minimizing the coexistence and disputes among healthcare forms. Menéndez’s perspective focused on the subjects point of view was crucial to identify, through the healthcare itineraries, the coexistence and articulation among different forms of attention at the villages. Nevertheless, it was not possible to identify the inclusion of health indigenous practices and representations through the work routines of the Indigenous Community Health Agents (AIS). It’s highlighted that the selfcare, developed by the subjects and families, has great importance to the construction and analysis of the differentiated healthcare.
