Abstract:

In 2008, the Family Health Support Team (NASF) was created with the objective of broadening the range and scope of primary healthcare. The REPLACEion of the pharmacist in this multi-professional context represents an opportunity of improving his working process and the access and rational use of medicines. Aim: To investigate the construction of the working process by the pharmacist in NASF of a municipality. Methods: It was carried out a field research of qualitative approach using participant observation and semi-structured interview. Results: Two analytic dialectic categories have emerged: the pharmacist’s dilemma in the construction of his working process, working as a supporter of primary healthcare, but at the same time with the need to deal with managerial functions most of the time attending operational demand; and the reality experienced with guidelines and coordination of his work, where the pharmacist can be free to structure his work as a supporter, but at the same time it limits him due to low acknowledgment of his already constructed working process. Conclusion: The lack of planning and a clear objective for the work in NASF, besides the deficiency of pharmaceutical services in the primary healthcare make the development of any type of pharmacist activity important and needed even if it does not meet the NASF proposal integrally.
