Abstract:

The National Policy for the Integral Health Care of Children (PNAISC) was introduced by the Brazilian Health Ministry in August 2015, which established child health carean integral standpoint, gathering health assistance as well as promotion and prevention actions in seven strategic axis, that runs transversally throughout the different levels of care. This article aims at reporting the development of children health assistance in Distrito Federal – Brazil, within de axis proposed by PNAISC and the fundaments of Brazil’s Universal Health System – SUS. The actions developed in each axis are described, after presenting Federal District’s public health system – SES/DF, and a quick historic review of child health care and its challenges presenting the strategies developed for the establishment of the healthcare network committed to the integral child health care assistance.
