Abstract:

In a different viewmost of the work in the field of so-called rare diseases, this paper transposes the boundaries of associations to reach people living with the diagnosis of a genetic condition and understood as a rare disease, Neurofibromatosis (NF). In this path, the still-emerging Sociology of Diagnosis is used to identify both the impact and the consequences of diagnosis in people\'s lives. As a result it is understood that we must overcome the charitable gaze on people who experience the diagnosis of a genetic condition, the patient, to, as a key informant, capture contributions to improve health services and our social relations.
