Abstract:

The study aimed to verify associations between the practice of bullying with sociodemographic variables, mental health and risk behaviors in schoolchildren. The cross-sectional survey analyzes datathe National School Health Survey (PeNSE 2015). A Multiple logistic regression analysis was carried out to verify factors associated with bullying. Self-report of bullying was reported by 19.8% (95% CI 19,5-20.0) of the students. The practice was more frequent among those who study in the private school, whose mothers have higher schooling, live with parents, who work. Bullying among those who report loneliness, insomnia and having no friends. Among the characteristics of the family, those who report picking upfamily members and those who miss classes without communicating the family practice more bullying. In this scenario, the data indicate that the practice of bullying is a relevant aspect that interferes both in the teaching-learning process and in the health of schoolchildren. It is necessary to act in the confrontations in the context of intersectoriality and youth protagonism.
