Abstract:

The objective of this study is to analyze social representation of the workers about the Family Health Program (PSF) to check its potential and limitations in order to change the attention model. Data were obtained through semi-structured interviews with eighteen workers health and by observing the work process in the teams of the Healthy Family Program of five Regional Administrations in the Federal District. The data obtained from the interviews were analyzed using the software ALCEST, which generated two main themes: the first is related to social representations of the PSF, composed by several classes: the first class deals with PSF as a strategy to change the attention model, the second class refers to the difficulties of infra-structure, and the fifth class deals with family interaction based on medical practice. The second theme deals with daily practices of the PSF, composed by a third class the actions developed by the PSF and by a fourth class that demonstrates the ways of organization and division of work in the PSF, that are based on the teamwork model.
