Abstract:

Objective: To verify the validity and the agreement between registers of medical records and self-report about the use of the Health Services by elderly users of the Health Care Network. Method: Cross-sectional population-based observational study. Were evaluated records of medical and dentistry appointment, home visits, referrals for secondary level consultations and hospitalizations by the years of 2015 and 2016. Percentage of concordance, Kappa coefficient, sensibility, specifity and predictive values for each items were also analyzed. Results: The biggest percentage of concordance (81,93%) with a significant Kappa coefficient (p=0,03) was for hospitalization. The dentistry appointments presented higher Kappa coefficient (k=0,271), significant (p=0,01). The analyses showed high specifity in the hospitalizations records (83%), and a greater sensibility for home visits (74%). Positive predictive values were low for hospitalization (8%), and the negative predictive values were low for medical appointments (17%).Conclusion: The low agreement between the use of the self-reported health service and records in medical records points one of the possible causes of the fragmentation of continuity of care.
