Saúde da Criança e do AdolescenteAbstract:
The objective of this study was to analyze protective and vulnerability factors to physical and psychological domestic violence within HIV adolescents. The research had being done in a public hospital. Parent Child Conflict Tactics Scales and the Escala de Violência Psicológica (Degrees of Psychological Violence) were applied to determine what sort of violence occurred. The adolescents who scored the most or the least were interviewed.
The questionnaires and the interviews showed a high prevalence of physical and psychological violence as others studies show.
This kind of violence can be very harmful to the one affected by it. This is why it is essential that the health professional should be able to identify violent situations and vulnerability factors and to promote protective factors when this sort of situation is identified.
