Abstract:

This narrative review aims to analyze the literature on Collective Health to recognize what has been discussed in Popular Education in Health (EPS) in the last three years. After the search, 62 articles were ed and critically analyzed. From this content analysis, six categories-synthesis were built: the practices of popular education as promoters of a participatory vision of health; popular education and the valorization of knowledge and practices of local popular culture; popular education in health as a strategy to support social reconstruction in the face of setbacks in public policies in the period 2016-2022; the importance of national articulation in popular education as a response to its devaluation; popular education as a liberating project thinking about democratic training and struggle against institutional and structural violence; popular education in the process of university training in health. It is expected that this work can contribute to the debate guiding the emerging needs to guide the HPS in the Unified Health System. It also reaffirms the need for national articulation and dialogue with popular movements for the advancement of an emancipating and dignifying health agenda in Brazil.
