In this review we sook to identify the gaps and the needs for understanding the rights of women with disabilities to experience motherhood. The goal is to map the knowledge referring to these women’s experience with motherhood, emphasizing the development of knowledge related to their sexual and reproductive rights. A scope review was done according to Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI). This research was based on: developing the question; identifying the relevant studies; ing the studies; extracting the data; separating, summarizing, and creating reports based on the results. Results: We identified 1050 articles and chose 53 for the analysis. The separation of convergent themes generated three axes: (1) Infantilization, dehumanization and discredit in the experience of motherhood; (2) Obstetric ableism: an expression of violence in obstetrics; (3) Reproductive justice: politicize the motherhood and care. We concluded with the urgency to consider women with disabilities with rights to make choices in terms of their sexual and reproductive health. Health professionals need permanent education in order to reconcile and guarantee their needs like interdependent relationships for decisions and autonomy.
