Devido ao aumento do sedentarismo entre os jovens, conhecer a intenção da atividade física nessa população pode ser decisivo para inculcar hábitos futuros na prática física e melhorar a saúde atual e futura dos alunos. Assim, o objetivo deste trabalho foi encontrar um modelo preditivo de intenção de atividade física no tempo livre a partires da motivação, satisfação e da concorrência. A amostra foi composta de 347 homens e 411 mulheres do ensino secundário em Espanha, com idades entre 13 e 18 anos. Foram utilizados tres questionários 1) Sport Motivation Scale, Sport Satisfaction Instrument, 2) Basic Psychological Needs in Exercise Scale e 3) Intention to partake in leisure-time physical activity, todos eles adaptados para a escola secundaria de educação física. Foram realizadas a análise fatorial confirmatória e modelos de equações estruturais. A intenção da prática foi prevista pela concurréncia e a satisfação / diverção. A motivação intrínseca foi descoberta para ser o melhor preditor de satisfação / diversão. Para prever a intenção de prática física deveria aumentar a motivação intrínseca entre os estudantes de Educação Física.

A questionnaire composed of the Sport Motivation Scale, Sport Satisfaction Instrument, competition factor Basic Psychological Needs in Exercise Scale and Intention to partake in leisure-time physical activity was used, all of them adapted to physical education at school. Confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modeling were performed. The intent of future practice was predicted by this competition and the satisfaction / fun. Intrinsic motivation was found to be the best predictor of satisfaction / fun. To predict the intention of physical practice intrinsic motivation among students of Physical Education should be enhanced.
