0017/2021 - Transição do modelo de ambiência em hospitais que realizam partos na Rede Cegonha Transition of the ambience model in hospitals that deliver in the Rede Cegonha

Abstract:
This article analyzes the ambience adequacy of delivery places considering, the presence of PPP (pre-delivery, parturition and immediate post-partum) rooms, in 575 hospitals that deliver by SUS and are in a health region with the Rede Cegonha Action Plan. The data were extractedthe survey Evaluation of childbirth and birth care in the maternity units of Rede Cegonha, carried out in 2017 by UFMA and ENSP, in partnership with the Health Ministry. The PPP room model combines care in one space, favoring women protagonism, good practices. The information was provided by direct observation in the services and the evaluation considers the presence and adequacy of the PPP room and their distribution according to the pre-delivery environment, which were confronted with specific characteristics of the hospitals. Collective birth rooms prevail and only 16.8% of the beds are in PPP rooms. Difficulties in resource management, resistance to changes in the care mode for childbirth and birth and insufficiencies in institutional support have hindered the transition and adequacy of the delivery environment model in Brazil. The Brazilian obstetric and neonatal field has lived a fertile period, but it is necessary to build and sustain political-institutional disposition to advance the changes.
